Super Sketchy Sunday

We got a great sketch today and were challenged to use certain words -- I stuck with the easy one "Friend".  I made 2 cards from the sketch and went in totally different directions.  TFL

Supplies -- K&Company ancestry.com paper & Basic kraft paper
Ink distressed the edges with Tim Holtz distresser and then inked them in brown.
The title was cut from Tim Holtz grungeboard using Jasmine cricut cartridge; and then I used a sueding technique on them.
I colored them in brown with a sharpie and then chalked them to give them a suede look.

The fish are a digital stamp from squigglefly.com.  The papers are all scrap.  The letters are cosmo cricket tiny type.

I thought it was fun that one sketch could produce 2 totally different cards.

Day 314 of 365 Cards Blog --
Challenge was to create a romantic card -- here is what I came up with.

It was nice to use up a bunch of scraps for this card -- from top to bottom.

I inked the chipboard with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick and then heat embossed it with Zing Clear Embossing Powder.  I removed some of the embossing powder prior to heating -- afterwards I inked it with Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap.  I'm very happy with the results.

One Word

So we are supposed to blog about one word -- so many come to mind.  Most of not rated for the general audience.  But my word for 2011 is Tolerance.  And I'm not talking tolerance in the political sense.  I'm talking tolerance in my daily life.  I have got to be more tolerant of other people, especially those who annoy me.  And sadly, there are way too many of those!  But by being intolerant -- I become unhappy.

So that is it -- I'm going to try and be more Tolerant and hopefully it will make my life easier.

I Heart Cards Day 310

The Challenge today was to use 12 hearts on a card -- 2 different types.

I used 10 hearts to make the flower.  The center is an antique mother of pearl button.  The flower is made from white cardstock.  I inked the flower petals with:
Tim Holtz Distress Ink -- Antique Linen & Worn Lipstick.
Afterwards I distressed using water.
And then inked the edges with brown cat eyes chalk.
and finally sprayed the entire flower with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist -- Pearl.

Patterned Paper is SEI Chocolat.  I used both sides.

I added more hearts using my Fiskars Hearts Border Punch.

The title is on a cute little tag one of my scrappy friends sent me & the letters are Fascinating by Pink Paislee.

out for publication

So I can't believe I posted my first post to the blog yesterday.  And now I have to remove it -- it's been requested for publishing.  My first time ever.

So I guess I better get something else on here -- so it doesn't look so empty.
